
Hey guys this is a new blog about the beautiful isle of St.Lucia. I know that many of you may not have heard of it, but by the end of this blog you should we well educated. St. Lucia is located in the lesser Antilles between Martinique and St. Vincent
. it is is only 27 miles long and 14 miles wide, with a shape that is said to resemble a mango or an avocado,and with an average population is 160,000.

St.Lucia as been known for its beauty since the 17th century when the French and the English fought to gain possession 14 times over a 150 year period. Due to this constant battle for control St. Lucia was then named 'Helen of the West Indies'. Britain took definite control of the island, but even today, as you walk though the streets of its capital 'Castries', you can still see the remnants of the french architecture.
The culture of its people is very diverse and most of its traditions are still practiced today. For example French creole, which is spoken on a daily basis, as a secondary language on the island; and not to mention the creole cuisine, with the national dish being green banana and salted cod fish. These traditions can all be experienced at the many festivals and night life, for example Anse La Raye fish fiesta. there are many more attractions on the island . St. Lucia is known for it's beautiful Pitons with peaks standing almost 2000 ft above sea level; as well as the Caribbean's only drive in volcano where you can melt all the stress away in the mud baths.
This lush tropical paradise has won the award for the number one honeymoon destination in the World 7 times, only beaten once by Barbados. it has also been acclaimed by Oprah,who vacations there very often,as one of the five places you need to see in your life time.
